Steven S. Wymer Hall, part of the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, is an educational and creative hub designed to enhance in-person, hybrid, and remote learning experiences by collocating hybrid classrooms with production spaces.
The lower levels of the building house an extensive teaching and learning ecosystem, comprising hybrid classrooms, an auditorium, small meeting spaces for team-based learning, and production studios designed for both synchronous and asynchronous production. The upper levels provide offices and collaboration space for faculty and staff. The project responds to the campus’s traditional limestone and brick neo-Georgian aesthetic while also engaging with the immediate context of its contemporary and post-modern neighbors.
The Steven S. Wymer Hall provides a forward-looking and adaptable learning environment by offering flexible instructional spaces and professional production studios, ensuring that the Gies College of Business continues to foster the next generation of business leaders.
