LMN’s design|build portfolio deepens with the completion of 4 significant projects over the next year. Building on more than two decades of design|build involvement, LMN continues to advance the methodology through a diversity of partnerships with builders, developers and financers in response to the increasing interest in alternative project delivery.

The 80,000 sf University of California Irvine Merage School of Business Addition was completed in November of 2014. The addition, which is targeting LEED Platinum, creates a new focus for the Merage School of Business centered on an external courtyard. The design creates a series of overlapping community and circulation spaces that bridge inside to outside, maximizing opportunities for interaction and collaboration—and fueling the social performance that is at the heart of the school’s mission. LMN collaborators include design|builder Hathaway Dinwiddie and associate architect Carrier Johnson.

LMN is teamed with ALSC Architects and Garco Construction on the 90,000 sf Spokane Convention Center Completion project which opens in March 2015.  The expanded facility completes the vision for the convention center campus as established in LMN’s 2006 Expansion project. The expanded facility will engage and enliven the Spokane River and Centennial Trail to an unprecedented degree, bringing visitors into direct contact with stunning natural environs and outdoor-oriented community culture.

The Washington State University Clean Technology Laboratory will provide research facilities for faculty and students in critically important areas of environmental sustainability—including renewable energy and power engineering as well as air and water quality. The design embodies themes of walkability, water conservation, daylighting and renewable materials, while fostering cross-disciplinary investigation and dialogue between researchers, students and the broader campus community. LMN is partnered with Skanska Construction on the 96,000 sf project slated to be complete in September of 2015.

The 286,000 sf Winnipeg Convention Center Expansion project is scheduled to open in early 2016. LMN is teamed with LM Architects, Number 10 Architects and design builder Stewart Olson Dominion Construction. The downtown, multi-story expansion includes a new elevated exhibit hall spanning over a central city street, which includes a venue-defining multi-purpose banquet space branded “The City Room.”
