The Dayton Convention Center, originally built in 1973 and expanded in the 1980s, has undergone a major renovation to better serve contemporary event needs. Spanning 297,000 square feet with 150,000 square feet of rentable space across three floors, the updates include reworked space planning, modernized interiors, and new amenities. A key improvement is the redesigned entry and lobby, which now prioritizes pedestrian access and integrates with the surrounding urban space. A new terrace above the entrance creates an outdoor event venue. Inside, a newly converted “Flex Hall” ballroom supports a variety of events, improving the center’s ability to host everything from conventions to smaller gatherings. The updated design emphasizes modern finishes, improved wayfinding, and infrastructure upgrades to support advanced event technologies. Building more direct links with the surrounding urban fabric, the updated design fosters stronger connections between the building, its community, and its ever-growing roster of events.
