“It’s been six months since the Seattle Convention Center’s Summit addition debuted in January, with the promise of bringing a world-class event space to the city. In that time, 19 groups and conferences have held events there, with some 93,000 attendees and yielding nearly $150 million in economic impact, per Visit Seattle. By comparison, the center’s older Arch wing has hosted nine events, with 21,000 attendees, bringing $46 million to the city.
‘The reception (to Summit) has been great because the building is stunning,’ Kelly Saling, chief sales officer for Visit Seattle, told the Business Journal. ‘They can see that it is truly different than the other convention centers and spaces they’ve been in.'”
