Seattle, Washington – January 28, 2025 – LMN Architects is pleased to announce the addition of Cristian Asher to the Principal group and leadership team at the firm.
Cristian Asher has joined LMN Architects in the role of Director of Business Development. This appointment strengthens the firm’s commitment to expanding its reach across North America. He brings nearly 18 years in the architecture industry to LMN, seven of those in executive positions leading marketing, communications, and BD teams in California, Oregon, and now Washington. At LMN, he will spearhead efforts to secure new projects within the firm’s five core market sectors and to consider new opportunities, geographies, and markets as they align with our values and celebrated portfolio.
Cristian has held leadership roles at notable architecture firms, including SERA Architects in Portland and Gensler at their headquarters office, with earlier experience at Perkins+Will and SMWM Architects in San Francisco. He has led winning pursuits worth over $1.5B in revenue across multiple sectors, including aviation, higher education, civic, and workplace. Cristian has volunteered extensively, supporting arts fundraising and donor relations in the non-profit sector, and served on Boards of Directors for Leadership San Francisco and Theatre Bay Area.
Cristian’s work with the firm’s partners and principals will focus on collaboratively setting BD strategies, establishing and developing client and partner relationships, identifying areas of opportunity and specific project targets, and growing the BD skill of staff at all levels. His core mantra that “everyone is a business developer” has immediately forged connections with LMN’s BD cohort and staff in his first few weeks with the firm. He understands business development as a straightforward effort comprising simple, common actions and the confidence that comes from setting clear, attainable expectations. With LMN’s teams, he will focus on honing skills and bringing his knowledge of client thinking to refine messaging, improve interpersonal interactions, and make all our communications—written, in-person, general, or pursuit-specific—more compelling, intentional, and accessible.
A lifelong lover of language and storytelling, Cristian has investigated and experimented with these topics throughout his career. Studying the cultural, strategic, and physiological aspects of storytelling and diving deep to understand the techniques of effective narrative and the chemistry of “your brain on a good story,” he has written about the importance of stories and storytelling as both cultural engine and an underutilized tool for personal and communal growth. At LMN, he has naturally engaged with the firm’s stories around design, sustainability, and social impact, and looks forward to bringing those to an ever-widening audience of clients, partners, and users of our spaces.
LMN Architects was the recipient of the 2016 AIA National Architecture Firm Award and is widely recognized for the design of projects that support smart, sustainable cities. The firm has successfully completed more than 1,000 projects across North America, including the double LEED Platinum Vancouver Convention Centre West in Vancouver, Canada; Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas; Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion in Seattle, Washington and the Mukilteo Multimodal Ferry Terminal in Mukilteo, Washington. The firm’s ongoing dedication to communities at all scales is underscored by its design approach, creating environments that elevate the social experience.
