“The four-story building aims to set a new standard of sustainability at the campus and is targeting LEED Platinum and LEED Zero Energy. A range of integrated energy strategies combine to achieve these goals. Those include all-electric systems, a high-performance envelope with minimized glazing to reduce heat gain and energy loss and locally sourced brick and limestone, salvaged materials, and reduced-emission finishes to lower the building’s embodied carbon footprint. In addition, an adjacent geothermal field provides year-round heating and cooling, and off-site solar power helps to meet and offset the building’s total energy consumption.”
