Construction of the Federal Way Performing Arts & Event Center has begun, with the grand opening anticipated in June 2017. The 46,000-sf project is central to Federal Way’s ambitions to enhance the vitality of its urban core and the cultural life of the city—bringing civic events, live performances, professional entertainment, national and regional conventions as well as community workshops to the heart of downtown.

The design concept capitalizes on the 4-acre site’s prominent location to create a new public plaza and indoor gathering spaces that capture stunning views of Mount Rainier. A highly flexible combination of conference/event space and a 700-seat multi-purpose theater will serve a wide range of performance and event uses, while the facility’s active urban presence promises to attract new development to further activate downtown.
