LMN Architects

Methodology

Introduction

We aspire to create built environments that question, rethink, and improve on the status quo, providing meaningful enrichment for users, institutions, and communities. Each design seeks a critical integration of fundamental form-givers—program, context, and user experience—informed by craftsmanship, materiality, and sustainability.

We believe design is pervasive, encompassing all aspects of our work and involving all project participants. Each assignment is a collaborative exploration with our consultant team, clients, and users, seeking progressive discoveries and innovative design solutions.

We progressively test and advance our methodology through each design assignment, making new discoveries and gaining further insight into the derivation of architecture from the essential project considerations. This is a process fueled by an open, challenging spirit of collaboration of people who make up our firm and a commitment to the evolution of our design excellence and innovation.

To achieve cultural “fit” for a place requires a creative process of active dialogue with our clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. We have found that our projects increase in richness and meaning when the design process actively engages a broad diversity of participants.
