Transportation Design

Successful transportation projects are seamlessly integrated with the economic systems, physical infrastructure and social experience of the surrounding region and urban environment. They can also enrich sense of place by knitting together the daily paths of community life with appropriately distinctive architecture. Transportation efficiency and convenience are integral to the impacts a project has on regional development, sustainability, and climate change.

LMN has designed light rail stations, street corridor developments, parking facilities, bridges, and interchanges. Among many unique multi-model transportation projects, we prepared the master plan for a large mixed-use ferry terminal complex at Seattle’s Colman Dock. This work draws on our experience in urban design as well as architectural design for an extensive diversity of civic projects across the nation.

Transportation projects bring a wide range of stakeholders and design disciplines together, and LMN’s consistent focus on integrated community process gives us a deep understanding of how to synthesize a wide variety of needs and viewpoints. Clients, public agencies, engineers, landscape artists, and a long list of other community participants all make important contributions to developing creative, highly functional transportation solutions.
