As part of the first phase of the University’s athletic fields master plan, design of the 1,000-seat stadium enhances spectator sight lines and proximity to the field by configuring concourse circulation along the perimeter of the facility.
The Stadium and Playing Field provides a dedicated facility for practice, competition and team support functions for the University of Washington’s Women’s Fastpitch Softball team.
Team support areas are located beneath the grandstand, with access from the concourse and field. The playing field configuration meets NCAA and ASA rules for division championship finals, and consists of a “skinned” infield and grass outfield with subsurface drainage and irrigation systems.
