Unico Financial Center
This redesign of the Financial Center seamlessly integrates the building’s interior and exterior public spaces. The result is a street presence that adds richness to the downtown urban fabric, creating a benefit for both the building users and the community.
Signature elements include a water feature that activates the entry plaza, a reoriented and enlarged building entry, and generous interior public spaces, all designed within a Northwest vocabulary. Local stone extends from the interior lobbies into the plaza, and other materials in the lobby spaces recall the natural environment of the Northwest.
Visible from the extensively glazed lobby, the plaza includes mature cherry trees, bamboo and grass varietals which expand on the natural material palette. The stone wall of the water feature clads the face of the building, continuing into the lobby interior and transitioning into makore wood.
