Sound Transit North Link University Station
This light rail station—located next to the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium—will connect the campus with all points in the Link light rail network, with a design that contributes to the importance of rail transit in serving the campus neighborhood.
The walls of the station entrance structure will be highly transparent, allowing natural light to filter down into the station. Two entrances—one with a southerly orientation and the other northerly—lead to a central escalator circulation volume to provide clear wayfinding to the train platform 100 feet below.
At the surface, just north of the entrance structure, a new pedestrian bridge connects to the main campus. Taking the shape of a simple sweeping curve, the 16-foot wide bridge will extend from the station over the Burke-Gilman Trail to a campus entry that frames views of Mount Rainier.
