LMN Architects

Science & Technology Expertise

Science and technology programs form a substantial and growing body of LMN’s work. This experience includes a wide range of laboratories, from biology, chemistry, biotechnology and vivariums to specialized engineering and technology research facilities and healthcare training laboratories.

In addition to our deep understanding of the functional and technical aspects of modern research laboratories, we have gained a great appreciation for how the quality of the physical environment can support and nourish the particular culture of a research organization in order to promote scientific achievement and breakthrough discovery.

As one of our research facility clients is fond of saying, “effective interaction among creative people is a catalyst for great ideas.” We strive to integrate the dynamics of human interaction, functional

organization, and quality of space in our design process to produce highly flexible work environments that serve the continuously evolving needs of contemporary research programs.

We engage stakeholders and users in the analysis in all aspects of programming and design, embracing both the visionary and the pragmatic. Whether in a campus or urban environment, we seek to connect the experience of the building with its broader context, extending its presence and vitality to the larger community.
